I was recently scrolling through my Instagram feed and watching some reels. I’m sure you’ve got a smart phone in your hand or somewhere close by. Look it up or maybe you have already seen the same post. It was Steve Harvey, I think, remarking on why you should never give up. He said something like, you should never give up because giving up always comes with a guarantee. That guarantee is you will never achieve your goal when you give up. But never giving up doesn’t come with any guarantees. It only comes with the probability that you could achieve your goal.
I’m not sure if I got that exactly right, but I don’t feel like looking it up, so that’s what you get. The most important thing is to be persistent and determined. I believe also being consistent would speed up the process. If you read my article, “6 Steps to Success” then you will remember steps 3-6 but especially step 6. Never giving up is the process. Every champion understands this. Anyone who has ever bent the universe knows this truth.
You know better than me that giving up is really easy. It’s always easier to not do a thing than to do a thing. Doing stuff takes movement and energy and that sounds like a lot of work. Our dreams and ideas should just magically appear in front of us so we can reap the benefits of our hard thinking. I’m sorry but it doesn't work that way. You need something else. Let’s say it together…” ACTION”. And not just any action, but consistent, disciplined, persistent action. This is what it means to never give up. You gotta keep your eye on the prize and want it like you’re drowning, and it is a breath of fresh air.
I know I’m not the first person to tell you never give up and I’m sure I won’t be the last. But one thing I think a lot of people do is put a time limit on their expectations. But trust me on this, if you never give up and are willing to work toward your goal, dream, idea, etc. consistently and persistently, it will most likely come to you faster than you think. Beyond things that need a deadline, time becomes an opponent as you battle against the clock. If you stumble, sometimes the time limits you set for yourself seem impossible. So, what should you do? I say, focus on what you can do right now that would get you a step closer to victory. Do what you can and should do when the opportunity arises and then repeat. Just keep going. Compared to most of the people you know, you’re probably the only one trying to actually do anything. You’re just built different. So go get’er tiger. You already know you have what it takes or at the very least you can find out how to get whatever it is your heart desires. It’s up to you to never give up.
